Contractual information

A hardware asset can have different types of contracts associated with it. Some contracts exist for the duration of the asset’s life cycle, while others only exist for a certain period of time. When a hardware asset is associated with a contract, its form has a visual indicator showing the status of the con­tract (expired or about to expire). In the case of a lease, the date the item was returned is also included on the hardware asset form. Associating assets with contracts also means you can view the assets related to a specific con­tract.

Using the Service Manager notification tool you can set up an e-mail reminder that notifies you when any hardware contract is about to expire.
